Ralph Dowdy, CPA is a managing associate and shareholder
of MDA Professional Group, P.C., and a member of
the firm's Board of Directors. He came to the firm
in 1977 with the establishment of the Huntsville
office.
Ralph's
primary area of specialization is corporate and
estate taxation. He is a charter trustee of the
American Institute of Federal Taxation and serves
each year on the CPA-IRS Liason Committee of the
Alabama Society of CPA's. He is also a frequent
speaker on tax-related topics. Before joining MDA,
Ralph was tax manager of the Huntsville office of
Ernst & Whinney.
A
leading member of the accounting profession statewide,
Ralph is a past president of the Alabama Society
of CPAs. He also represents the state society as
a member of the council of the American Institute
of CPAs and serves on the Area II Planning Sub-committee
of the Institute's State Legislation Committee.
He is past president of the Huntsville-Decatur Chapter
of CPAs.
A
resident of Guntersville, Ralph has taken an active
role in civic affairs. He has been a member of the
Jaycees, the Moose Lodge, the Lions Club, and a
member of the Board of Directors of the United Givers
Fund.
Ralph
is a graduate of Auburn University. He and his wife
Ann have two sons and are members of the First United
Methodist Church of Guntersville.
