
Steve
is
a
shareholder
and
Director
of
Healthcare
Services
with
the
Huntsville
office
of
MDA
Professional
Group,
P.C.
He
has
experience
in
the
areas
of
audit,
tax
and
consulting.
He
works
primarily
with
healthcare
clients,
with
emphasis
on
practice
management
consulting
and
taxation.
Prior
to joining MDA Professional Group, P.C., he was associated with
the Huntsville office of Ernst and Young. He graduated with honors
from Samford University with a B.S. in Business Administration,
Accounting Concentration. He holds Certified Public Accountant
(CPA) certificates in the states of Alabama and Tennessee and
is designated a Certified Administrator in Physician Practice
Management (CAPPM) through the American Academy of Medical Management.
Steve
is
a
member
of
the
American
Academy
of
Medical
Management,
Medical
Group
Management
Association,
American
Institute
of
CPAs
and
the
Alabama
Society
of
CPAs.
Also
active
in
the
community,
Steve
is
past
President
of
the
Board
of
Directors
of
the
local
affiliate
of
the
American
Heart
Association
and
has
served
as
Chairman
of
the
Board
of
Directors
of
The
H.E.A.L.S.
Clinics
for
underprivileged
children.
Steve
is
a
frequent
speaker
at
conferences
and
workshops
across
the
country
sponsored
by
medical
and
dental
associations,
hospitals,
medical
and
dental
schools,
and
other
healthcare
organizations.
He
serves
on
the
faculty
of
the
American
Academy
of
Medical
Management-sponsored
"Practice
Management
Intensive
Training"
course.
He
also
frequently
addresses
CPA
groups
around
the
country
discussing
topics
such
as
"Providing
Tax
and
Practice
Management
Services
to
Healthcare
Professionals".
Steve
has
served
for
a
number
of
years
as
a
member
of
the
Editorial
Board
of
Advantage
for
Healthcare
Professionals,
a
nationally
distributed
periodical
for
healthcare
providers.
Locally
he
serves
as
a
consultant
and
adjunct
faculty
for
the
Family
Practice
Residency
Program
at
the
University
of
Alabama
(UAB)
School
of
Medicine-Huntsville.
In
dealing
with
medical
and
dental
residents
at
UAB
and
other
programs,
Steve
reviews
and
negotiates
a
large
number
of
recruitment
agreements,
and
also
consults
in
the
start-up
of
many
new
practices
each
year.
In
dealing
with
established
practices,
he
provides
a
wide
range
of
services,
including
practice
management
reviews,
practice
merger
and
dissolution
plans,
physician
and
dentist
income
distribution
plans,
internal
control
reviews
and
consulting
with
healthcare
networks.
Steve
is
one
of
seven
CPAs
from
around
the
United
States
chosen
to
participate
on
a
national
task
force
specializing
in
improving
services
to
healthcare
professionals.
Steve
was
selected
to
serve
as
chairman
of
the
task
force
and
served
in
that
capacity
for
four
years
.
The
task
force
was
sponsored
by
the
Continental
Association
of
CPA
Firms,
Inc.,
a
nationwide
organization
of
accounting
firms.
